I recently had a delightful stay at Hotel Joly, a charming family-run establishment just 25 minutes from the bustling heart of Lille. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to the luxurious 'Suite Napoleon' with its own hot tub-an unexpected treat that complemented the peaceful ambiance of the quiet street it resides on. The buffet breakfast was a highlight, available from 7 AM to 10 AM, boasting an array of options ranging from fresh pastries to hearty meats and cheeses that fuelled my adventures exploring nearby medieval towns. The staff were incredibly welcoming and eager to assist, even if their English was limited, which added to the authentic experience. It's worth mentioning that the hotel is a stone's throw from the main shopping street, making it an excellent base for exploring and dining. After a long day of cycling-perhaps a homage to my passion for travel and history-I greatly appreciated the chance to relax in my comfortable room, which came equipped with a flat-screen TV and complimentary Wi-Fi. If you're planning a trip to explore the historical landscapes of Poland or the local sites in the region, I wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Joly for its hospitality, strategic location, and excellent amenities.
